General statement on COVID-19

Bridgewater Prep will serve our community for the duration of the COVID-19 public health crisis. We continue to offer our full range of services, including academic groups, SAT/ACT classes, SAT/ACT practice tests, and private tutoring.

With schools and students struggling to regain their footing, we see our role providing educational enrichment opportunities to be an important one. We can help students deepen their understanding of material important for courses and exams, maintain continuity during periods of disruption and transition, and fill gaps in their learning.

Currently, academic groups and SAT/ACT classes are held in person, except for practice tests, which can be taken in person or online. Private tutoring is also available either in person or online.

Mask Policy (updated 3/10/2022)

With the statewide mask mandate for schools having expired in Connecticut, Bridgewater Prep will be switching over to a mask-optional policy inside our offices, starting Monday, 3/21. We still encourage any students who are more comfortable wearing masks to continue to do so, but with local COVID-19 case counts and transmission levels on the decline, we wanted to give all students the option. If there are additional surges in local COVID-19 levels, we may reinstitute mask requirements inside our offices, but we'll follow up with additional instructions if anything changes. Please note that we will still be requiring masks for the SAT/ACT practice tests on Saturday, 3/26, as we will have over 40 students in the office on that date.

Per CDC guidelines, we ask that any students who have been exposed to COVID-19, but are up-to-date on vaccinations, wear a mask inside the office for 10 days after exposure. We also ask that any students who have been exposed but are not up-to-date on vaccinations (as well as students who have tested positive for COVID-19), work remotely during the 10-day quarantine period (contact us, and we'll do our best to accommodate). For the health and safety of our students, staff, and community, we ask that everyone err on the side of caution and default to moving their session online when there is any doubt as to whether a student might be sick.

Please note that we're more than happy to run private tutoring sessions over Zoom for any students who would prefer online instruction. We can also email digital copies of our practice tests for students to take from home and submit for scoring through our website.

We will continue to implement safeguard measures to improve ventilation inside our offices, including leaving windows and doors open to allow for fresh air flow. We will also continue to disinfect surfaces and have hand sanitizer available for students / instructors throughout our offices.
